How to quickly obtain an A2 level in French?

Take a test : French language Test (TCF)  and Test d’évaluation du français (TEF)

Taking the TCF – Test de connaissance du français or «French language proficiency test » – is a fast way to attest of your linguistic skills: a score above or equal 200 indeed corresponds to the  A2 level, thus validating your basic knowledge of French language.

The TCF is a general French language test designed for non-francophones who intend to justify their skills in French for professional or personal reasons by taking an official and reliable test.

Issued by France Education International, the TCF follows the European standards for language tests as defined by the  Common European Framework of Reference for Languages:  it will evaluate the candidate’s listening comprehension, use of language structure and reading comprehension.

Valid for two years, the TCF assesses your level as it is when the test is taken.

In order to justify your A2 level in French, you might also choose to take the “Test d’évaluation du français” issued by the CCIP (Chambre de commerce et d’industrie de Paris ). Also valid for 2 years, the TEF is an international benchmark test that is sometimes required to enroll in francophones universities.

The Cours de Civilisation Française de la Sorbonne are among the accredited Language Centers for testing assessment in French. The CCFS thus allow you to take the TCF (both mandatory and optional examinations) and the TCF IRN (Integration, Residence, Nationality) if you wish to obtain a resident card.

Get a diploma :DELF and DALF

Getting a diploma remains the best way, if not the fastest, to justify your level in French.

The Diplôme d’études en langue française, (Diploma in French Language Studies or DELF for short) is a degree that will attest to your level in French. Harmonized with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL) and internationally recognized, the DELF comes in four levels including A 2.

Just like a test, the DELF assesses the candidates’ skills in oral and written comprehension/production as well as their ability to interact orally; it is nonetheless a diploma that won’t expire like a test or certification, remaining valid for life.

It’s also the case for the DALF, Diplôme Approfondi en Langue Française – diploma in advanced French language. This degree addresses more fluent speakers and therefore goes beyond the A2 level which concerns beginners and intermediate learners.

These two diplomas certify the linguistic competence of their holders and will be of strong help if you wish to pursue higher education in France, or boost your career in a French-speaking environment.

Prior to the exams, the CCFF offers training modules to ensure better chances if you want to obtain diplomas such as the DELF or the DALF.  Since the CCFS is an approved examination centre, you can of course choose to pass these two exams within our establishment.
