How long is an annual French course at CCFS Sorbonne?
Our annual French courses last 20 to 24 weeks, spread over two consecutive semesters (approximately 480 hours of instruction). You attend 10 to 15 hours per week in Paris, near the Sorbonne.
What level of French do I need to enrol?
No prior knowledge required. Our annual courses welcome all levels from A1 (complete beginner) to C1 (advanced). A placement test is conducted on arrival to place you in the most appropriate group.
What is the difference between an annual and a semester course?
A semester course covers one period (October–February or February–June). An annual course covers two full consecutive semesters, allowing up to two CEFR levels of progress in one academic year.
Which annual programme is right for me?
Choose the AN40 (starting February) or the AN50 (starting October). Both combine language classes, phonetics lab and French civilization lectures.
Can I get a student visa for a 1-year French course in Paris?
Yes. Annual courses at CCFS Sorbonne are eligible for a long-stay student visa (Visa D). We issue the official enrolment certificate required for your Campus France / French consulate application.
