Information meetings will be organized to guide you as best as possible. The secretariat will give you your student card. Your teacher will tell you the books you need to follow your courses.
Obtaining a Visa to study in France
Depending on your country of origin, you may need to obtain a visa to study or learn French in France. Citizens of the European Union, Switzerland, and the European Economic Area can study in France without applying for a visa beforehand.
For nationals of other countries without a French residence permit, obtaining a visa is essential to stay in France. Depending on the reasons and duration of their stay, international students have different options. The Long Stay Visa: This visa is ideal for students because it can be extended to pursue a university course. It is valid for 4 to 12 months and eliminates the need to apply for a residence permit. It allows you to travel in the Schengen area, work part-time in France and apply for housing assistance from the CAF. The Temporary Long Stay Visa is valid for 4 to 12 months and cannot be extended in France. It does not allow part-time work or application for CAF assistance. It is suitable for those considering a gap year for learning French. The Working Holiday Visa or “Young Traveller” is for people aged 18 to 30 from 16 countries whose objective is the tourist and cultural discovery of France, including learning the language. With a maximum duration of one year, it allows the exercise of a salaried activity.
