Learning French with CCFS teachers without travelling to Paris: that is what the online courses offer, taught live by videoconference wherever you are. For spring 2027, two formats are open: four-week monthly sessions in January, March and April, and a full semester from January to May. Here are the dates, the prices, what each course includes and a simple way to choose the one that fits your goal before you buy.

Three courses, from focused to complete
Whether you choose monthly or semester classes, CCFS online French courses come in three formats. Only the length changes.
Oral expression (CL3 and CL300). A course dedicated to speaking: 12 hours per monthly session, 36 hours over the semester. This is the one to choose if you already understand French well but hesitate to speak.
General French (CL6 and CL600). The core course: equal hours of language and phonetics by videoconference. That means 24 hours a month (12 hours of language, 12 hours of phonetics) or 72 hours over the semester. It is the most versatile option, for progress in both writing and speaking.
General French and oral expression (CL9 and CL900). The complete format, combining the two others: language, phonetics and oral expression in equal parts. That means 36 hours a month, or 108 hours over the semester. For learners who want to move fast on every front.
Monthly online French classes in spring 2027
Monthly online courses last four weeks. Three sessions are scheduled:
- January session: 25 January to 26 February 2027, with a one-week break from 15 to 19 February.
- March session: 1 March to 26 March 2027.
- April session: 30 March to 3 May 2027. It starts on a Tuesday, as Easter Monday is a public holiday, and teachers are on leave from 12 to 16 April.
No session starts in February: the January session covers that month. You can take a single session for a short-term goal, or book several in a row.
Prices per session: €240 for CL3, €470 for the CL6 online general French course, €690 for CL9.
Semester courses: a full semester online
Semester online courses run over twelve weeks, from 25 January to 3 May 2027. They suit learners who want a regular framework and steady progress over the whole period.
Semester prices: €690 for CL300 (36 hours), €1,390 for the CL600 online general French course (72 hours), €1,990 for CL900 (108 hours).
Time slots are designed to cover several time zones, and a CCFS language certificate is issued at the end of the training.
Monthly or semester: how to choose
A semester course is exactly three monthly sessions: 36 hours for CL300 against 12 for CL3, 72 against 24 for general French, 108 against 36 for the complete format. So the choice comes down to three criteria.
Price. The semester costs slightly less than three months bought separately: €1,390 for CL600, against €1,410 for three CL6 sessions.
Flexibility. Monthly courses let you try the format for one session, take a break, or switch courses from one month to the next. This is the right option if your schedule is uncertain.
Commitment. The semester course runs over the whole period, from January to May. It is the right option if you are preparing a specific project (studies, moving to France, career development) and want to keep a steady pace.
One practical point: the registration fee is annual. If you plan several monthly sessions, you only pay it once in the year.
Which level for which course
Depending on the course, groups range from A1 to C1, and a placement test when you enrol puts you in the right group.
- General French (CL6 and CL600): false beginner (A1+), intermediate (A2-B1) and advanced (B2-C1) groups. This is the entry point if you already have some basics.
- Oral expression (CL3 and CL300): intermediate (A2-B1) and advanced (B2-C1) groups only. These courses are not open to beginners.
- Complete format (CL9 and CL900): the exact levels of the groups on offer are confirmed at the placement test.

Who these online French courses are for
Online courses suit adults who cannot come to Paris, learners preparing a stay in France, and professionals who want to progress without leaving their job. They do not qualify for a student visa: if you plan to study in France on a visa, you need an in-person programme.
