Language and civilization courses

General or reinforced French course + conferences

Combine learning French and cultural discovery

The Cours de Civilisation Française de la Sorbonne offer a general French course enriched with weekly lectures, which constitutes a complete and immersive learning opportunity. This course format is designed to strengthen students’ mastery of French while immersing them in the rich French civilization, thus offering a rich and exhaustive learning experience.

Acquire fundamental language skills

At the core of this program, French language courses focus on various fundamental aspects, such as grammar, conjugation, spelling, vocabulary, analysis of literary texts, and written and oral expression. This allows students to improve their language skills overall, while providing them with the tools necessary to fluently communicate in French.

Phonetics lessons

Phonetics courses at the CCFS are also included in this formula, allowing students to refine their pronunciation, improve their oral comprehension and optimize their expression skills. Phonetics plays a vital role in mastering a foreign language, and these courses go a long way in improving students’ language skills.

The importance of conferences

One of the most valuable elements of this formula is the series of weekly conferences devoted to various aspects of French civilization. These conferences offer an immersion in French culture, history, literature, art and customs. Students have the opportunity to explore these areas in depth, which significantly broadens their understanding of France and its place in the world.

Lectures are an essential complement to language courses, allowing students to practice their language skills in context. Listening to experienced speakers discuss a variety of topics strengthens students’ listening comprehension, while enriching their vocabulary and exposing them to various accents and speaking styles.

Choose intensive courses (+ conferences)

To sum it all up, these courses taught at CCFS effectively combine language learning and an exploration of French civilization. Lectures, in particular, play a key role in immersing students in French culture and history. This not only contributes to the improvement of language skills, but also to a better understanding of France as it is today.

International students who wish to enroll to a language and civilization course can also opt for intensive French courses, complemented by a series of conferences.
