One of the key elements of this preparation is the emphasis on improving French language proficiency. Students benefit from language enhancement courses, both in written and oral expression. These courses aim to strengthen their linguistic competence and help them communicate effectively in French, both in writing and orally. This is essential for success in a French-speaking academic program, attending lectures, or tutorials.

In addition to language courses, students are also trained in academic and professional methodology. They learn to write papers in accordance with academic requirements, conduct research, present their writings, and develop essential skills for success in a demanding academic environment.

Personalized tutoring is another major asset of this program: within the CCFS framework, students receive individualized support to help them progress in their studies and achieve their academic goals. This helps create a supportive learning environment where each student receives the attention and support they need.

A unique feature of the Prep Master course is the opportunity to attend lectures related to French civilization, with language learning and cultural discovery linked to the CCFS. Therefore, students have the opportunity to attend fascinating lectures on various aspects of French culture and civilization. This enriches their understanding of France and exposes them to ideas and concepts essential for their future academic career.

Finally, the program offers an internship option, with students having the opportunity to apply their skills in a professional environment while benefiting from an agreement and pedagogical support provided by the CCFS. This is an opportunity for students to combine their academic knowledge with practical experience in the workplace.

Course objectives

The Master Preparation Training is a generalist training from a disciplinary point of view and specialized in linguistic reinforcement for academic purposes and methodological support.

Detailed program

From Monday to Friday, this formula offers over 12 weeks:
language enhancement courses (10 hours per week), both written and oral expression, allowing students to refine their knowledge of the French language from an academic perspective, academic and professional methodology courses (6 hours per week) providing students with the methodological keys to the most common academic exercises, tutoring and personalized support (2 hours per week) as part of a research project to be defended before a jury at the end of the semester, specifically designed applied linguistics courses for this session (4 hours per week for 5 weeks, every other week), the opportunity to attend French civilization lectures (subject to compatibility with the schedule). Detailed information on French civilization lectures is available here.

To ensure that all students benefit from training tailored to their specific project, the course with an internship option, which aims to be more professional, offers the opportunity to do an internship with a company, including an agreement and specific pedagogical follow-up.

Pedagogical supervision is provided under the direction of CCFS, allowing on-site assessment of the conditions of the students’ internships.

The internship is divided into three stages:
The internship search by students, with guidance provided by the internship supervisor; The internship agreement, where the tasks are validated and followed up with the internship supervisor and the pedagogical management of CCFS; Writing and defending a report at the end of the internship before a jury. The duration of the internship varies depending on the agreement between the company and the student intern. It can range from three months full-time, after the end of classes, from June to August, to six months part-time during classes.

The remuneration/gratification for the internship is to be defined with the company when creating the internship agreement.
