From January 1st, 2012, candidates for French citizenship must provide proof of their French speaking skills (that is to say in the activities " listen ", " take part in a conversation " and " Spoken expression "), by obtaining a diploma or certificate equivalent to B1 level as defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for languages (CEFR).

The B1 level is reached when the candidate gets together: - a minimum mark of 300 points for the listening test;
- a score of 6 / 20 minimum for the spoken expression.
The DELF B2
