The TCF (Test de Connaissance de Français) is the Ministry for National Education’s French test that allows entry into a French university under certain conditions.

It is a linguistic level test in general French language intended for all non-French speakers who would like to obtain a simple, reliable and quick evaluation of their knowledge of French for professional or personal reasons.

The Certificate is the name given by the Cours de Civilisation Française de la Sorbonne to the document certifying examination success for the intermediate and elementary levels.
Regular evaluation of the student’s work and progress by the teacher in the classroom.

The DALF (Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française) is an official diploma awarded by the French Ministry for National Education to certify foreign candidates’ competence in French and allows entry to a French university under certain conditions.

The tests can be taken in approved examination centres in almost 150 countries including France.

The DELF (Diplôme d’Études de Langue Française) is an official diploma awarded by the French Ministry for National Education to certify foreign candidates’ competence in French.

The Diploma is the name given by the Cours de Civilisation Française de la Sorbonne to the document certifying examination success for the advanced levels.
Short tourist trip.

Written and oral exams are held at the end of the session. They evaluate the level acquired by the student at the end of the programme.

The final exam grade is added to that for continual assessment to determine whether the student should be awarded the certificate or diploma.

A grade higher than the average is required in the written papers to pass the exam.

Lectures are held in a lecture hall and are attended by a large number of students at the same time.

The Cours de Civilisation Française de la Sorbonne proposes courses to all non-French speakers, from absolute beginners to bilingual students.

After registration, all students must sit a test so that we can place them into a group corresponding to their level of French.

The level test includes a dictation, vocabulary and grammar questions, a short composition and an interview with a teacher. All students, even beginners, sit this non-selective test.

A “bibliothèque” (library) is a place where you can study, find books and reference dictionaries and borrow them.

Study of sounds, rhythm and intonation under the direction of an applied linguistics teacher.

The students practise the previously studied phonetics lesson in the specially equipped language lab.

The TCF for the Demande d’Admission Préalable (DAP) is a test that allows entry into the 1st year of an undergraduate course at a French higher education institution or school of architecture.

It is a linguistic level test in general French language intended for all non-French speakers who would like to obtain a simple, reliable and quick evaluation of their knowledge of French for professional or personal reasons.
